The Vatican's Vault by Barry Libin (moderated by Myron Bari)

    Tuesday, Jan 28th 7:00p to 9:00p
“Conspiracy, intrigue, deceit, and murder in the holiest of sanctuaries all can be found in this fierce and riveting mystery. Yet, Libin utilizes the novel as a vehicle to deliver religious and historical events that challenges the reader to greater depths: the battle between good and evil, power and faith, tradition vs. modernity, Christianity vs. Judaism, and the existential threat to Israel and Judaism. All to be found in this timely and timeless novel!” Library Review.

    Cantor Avi Albrecht

    Shabbos, Feb 1st 9:00a to 12:00p
Avi Albrecht is the Cantor of the prestigious Beth Tfiloh Congregation in Baltimore, MD, the largest Modern Orthodox synagogue in America. He has appeared in almost every major city in North America, Israel and Europe, and his exceptional vocal talents have earned him standing ovations wherever he performs. His rich baritone is equally suited to performing Broadway favorites, Yiddish standards, and Italian arias in addition to his inspirational cantorial singing. He has performed in Carnegie Hall and other major venues, and has appeared with major symphony orchestras such as the Baltimore Symphony, Prague Symphony Orchestra, Jerusalem Symphony and the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra. He is a composer as well as a singer, and many Cantors sing his melodies during their Sabbath and High Holiday services. Wherever he appears as a guest Cantor, he selects melodies which encourage participation from the congregation.
