B"H Dear Friends, I am thrilled that our shul’s April 29th trip to Israel is coming to fruition and sincerely hope that more people will take advantage of this meaningful opportunity. Visiting Israel is always special, but in the wake of October 7th, our journey carries an even greater significance. Experiencing both the immense tragedy and the incredible resilience of the Israeli people firsthand strengthens our connection and deepens our commitment to advocating for and supporting our Israeli family.
During our trip, we will meet with soldiers and their families, standing with them in their pain while celebrating their courage, conviction, and unwavering spirit. We will also bring comfort and joy to the many children who have suffered due to displacement, listening to their stories and giving them a platform to share their experiences.
I would love for everyone to join us, but I understand that many may not be able to do so in person. However, you can still be part of this vital mission by helping to support our efforts. Even small contributions make a meaningful impact. Sponsoring a BBQ for soldiers may cost just $20 per person, but when feeding 300 soldiers, the cost quickly rises to $6,000. Renting an indoor amusement park for 300 children and their families amounts to $7,500.
Our goal is to stand in solidarity with the people of Israel and do whatever we can to bring comfort and hope. On past trips, we have provided cell phones and laptops to soldiers recovering at Sheba Medical Center and purchased Tefillin for a young boy whose father was serving in Gaza while his mother struggled financially. Every act of kindness—big or small—makes a difference. I am deeply grateful to be part of a community that so profoundly values the mitzvah of giving Tzedakah. Your generosity and support mean the world, and I thank you in advance for your contributions. As we gather at our Passover Seders this year, let’s change the phrase from “Next year in Jerusalem” to “This year in Jerusalem.”
