We lift up our eyes unto the heavens to offer prayers on behalf of our brothers and sisters. We pray as Jews to the creator of the world and have, in our hearts, all who Hashem created. What started in Wuhan, China has impacted all humanity and taught us that in spite of our differences we are all interconnected. We raise our voice in prayer for all those who are battling the ravages of the coronavirus. We empathize with the loneliness and isolation of many of our seniors and those who live alone.
This Pesach we need not ask, “Why is this night different from all other nights and all other seders?” In place of apathy let’s join together in virtual hand-holding and embrace one another with a new found love and sensitivity. Let’s join together in beseeching the Almighty to have mercy upon His creations and grant a speedy recovery to all who are ill. We ask that He remove the gloom and darkness currently permeating the globe and replace it by shining His radiant countenance upon us.
As we conclude the Seder and utter the phrase, “Next year in Jerusalem,” let us join together and pray that indeed, may we all experience next year in Jerusalem with our family and friends. May the difficult challenges of COVID-19 be replaced with a newfound spirit of harmony, peace, and coexistence.
